- Disable Tamper Protection
- Press the keys Windows + R.
- Type services.msc then press Enter.
- Stop Sophos AutoUpdate Service.
- Rename the following folders:
C:\ProgramData\Sophos\AutoUpdate\Cache\decoded
C:\ProgramData\Sophos\AutoUpdate\data\Warehouse
to
C:\ProgramData\Sophos\AutoUpdate\Cache\decoded_old
C:\ProgramData\Sophos\AutoUpdate\data\Warehouse_old - Delete the file SophosUpdateStatus.xml that is located at
C:\ProgramData\Sophos\AutoUpdate\data\status. - Start Sophos AutoUpdate Service.
- Open the Sophos Endpoint Agent user interface.
- Click About followed by the Update Now button.
- Once the update is completed, confirm the Last update time has changed and that it shows a green checkmark.
If you believe the possibility exists then you should seek it out. Keep moving, whatever it takes. Even if the way ahead lies through a river of mud.
